The new four-player Zelda takes the four swords game in the Game Boy Advance version of Link to the Past and turns it into a full-blown game. Players compete with each other to see who can collect the most rupees and each individual has the privilege to steal from their fellow players but in order to progress in the game, teamwork with each other is essential in order to solve the cooperative puzzles. Although GBA connectivity isn’t required, it is recommended in order to receive the best possible gameplay experience. When using a GBA to play the game, players are allowed to venture offscreen to explore new areas displayed on their GBA screens. This allows for an unprecedented level of freedom and exploration.
