Intellivision console classics invade the Nintendo GameCube.
If you weren't around in the early 1980s, you will probably look at Intellivision Lives! and say "What is that?" For those with a soft spot in their heart for the classic system that dared challenge the Atari juggernaut, opening Intellivision Lives! is like prying open a treasure chest.
Astrosmash, Space Armada and Snafu highlight this collection of more than 60 games from the Intellivision console. At Hal's pizza parlor -- a clever interface -- arcade machines house the classics of days gone by. Each machine contains a different genre, from Space to Sports.
Although Intellivision Lives! is stuffed full of retro-gaming gold, there was still room for dessert. The game disc includes original Intellivision TV commercials, never-before-released games, new modes and two exclusive documentaries featuring interviews with the Blue Sky Rangers, the name given to the original Intellivision game programmers. The pizza arcade also features a jukebox that plays music inspired by the Intellivision console and many of its games. The co-founders of Intellivision were also involved in Intellivision Lives! to make sure that the games were reproduced in line with the way they appeared and played on the Intellivision.
