The blue highlighted areas in the above picture shows the improvements made on the Inner Joystick Handle in this controller. The White Inner Joystick handle improvements include thickened connections and remodeled stress relieving slots to improve the overall lifespan of the controller.
Atari 2600 Controller Contacts
Based on the 1981 Atari redesign, this controller brings even more improvements by redesigning the notorious dome contacts (circled above). The redesign brings a controller that can withstand even the most vigorous gaming session without having the dome contacts fail.
