Join Tidus as he is transported to the land of Spira. There he meets the summoner known as Yuna, and her guardians, Wakka and Lulu. The antagonist in this game is Sin, a colossal and powerful beast that causes massive destruction. Tidus and Yuna join forces to defeat Sin and bring peace to Spira.
Players must earn Ability Points during battle to advance. There are no levels in this game, instead players gain stats and abilities by way of the Sphere Grid. Another change from the previous Final Fantasy games is the removal of the Active Time Battle. Now players do not need to feel rushed in finishing their game. Another huge difference is the voiceovers. In Final Fantasy X, characters have complete vocal replies no matter when the character has something to say.
